Hi,

We will have a lab lunch next week, 7th April, at 13.10 in MF2. Conor McBride of Strathclyde University will give a talk.

Title: Testing times in the free monad monad

Abstract: I've been thinking about how testing on a small number of inputs can prove that functions coincide on all inputs, when you can bound how gnarly they are. In trying to cook up a general method, it turns out to be very handy that the free monad construction is itself a monad, but with respect to the containers which make nodes, rather than the types which make leaves.

Thanks,

Sam
