Dear all,

KIAS (Korea Institute for Advanced Study -

https://kias.re.kr/kias/main/main.do) in Seoul is a Korean version of

the IAS in Princeton, and has three departments, math, physics, and

computational science. Just like IAS, the KIAS is a research-only

institute, and it focuses on theoretical topics.

KIAS is advertising 10 fellow positions. These are two year positions

with a possible extension for three more years, and they come with

reasonable salaries and a research grant. These positions are also for

theoretical PL people. Recently, there have been quite a bit of

activities in KIAS on the use of AI for math, including the Lean

formalisation of mathematics. So PL folks interested in using

interactive theorem provers for math fit very well with these

positions. More generally, PL folks interested in using PL techniques,

including PPLs, for mathematics may enjoy these positions; if they

take these positions, I think, they will get a lot of chances to

interact with mathematicians.
